Change project in geodata management

High-quality data are essential for data-based work. At the end of 2021, Verkehrsbetriebe Zürich (VBZ) launched a project to anchor data management in their organisation and provide stakeholders in Zürich's city administration with reliable data. The technical basis is the Geographic Information System (GIS).

RUBI Railtec managed the project. Part of our solution was an organisational concept including process supplements for geodata management, which integrates all areas of the company and establishes data management as a leadership task. Thanks to requirements management by means of user stories, support for internal communication and training, clear responsibilities and continuous progress monitoring, VBZ was able to successfully go through the necessary change process. Thanks to an agile project structure and modern working tools, we were able to react well to short-term changes to the project content and Covid protection concept.
