Maintenance strategy

The Glattalbahn consists of two tram lines with a total length of 12.7 kilometres connecting Zürich Airport with the city centre as well as Stettbach railway station. Glattalbahn was put into operation in its full length in 2010.

RUBI Railtec acted as owner support for the infrastructure owner and operator Verkehrsbetriebe Glattalbahn (VBG). Ten years after the start of operation, we developed a new maintenance strategy for the Glattalbahn infrastructure. In addition, we took care of the associated procurement from the concept to the start of the contract. We advised on and planned tram and slab tracks. Furthermore, we supported digitising work line plans with GIS and developing interface plans and schematics as a basis for contracts with Verkehrsbetriebe Zürich (VBZ).
